The Apple Store, The Potting Shed and The Wood Store.

The conversion of three stone barns around a courtyard into self-catering rental accommodation for families.

We retained many of the charming, original features to create homely, welcoming cottages in a natural, rustic palette. Locally sourced products were used throughout, including stone floor tiles, restored oak beams from the estate, and wool from neighbouring sheep farmers for insulation.

The open-plan living, dining, kitchen space and oversized fireplace with wood-burning stoves became a key feature in each cottage. We constructed dry stone walls in the bathrooms and sourced local timber for the furniture. We used lime plaster throughout, and gave each cottage its own identity by using recycled wicker panels, apple crates and antlers for hooks, handles and detailing.

We transformed the courtyard into a garden with outdoor dining areas accessible from each cottage.
